How Do You Use CBD Crumble? – Step by Step Guide

CBD crumble is a powerful little product, but to fully take advantage of all that it has to offer, you’ll need to know how to use it correctly and efficiently.

There are lots of ways to use CBD crumble, many of which involve vaporizing or smoking it in some way. Dabs, joints, and even edibles are all possible avenues through which to take in your CBD crumble, but all of these methods require care and a different approach.

The flexibility that comes with CBD crumble is one of the best things about it, but it can also be one of the hardest to navigate. Let’s take a closer look at how you can make CBD crumble work for your routine and needs.

How Do You Dab With CBD Crumble?

To dab with CBD crumble, you’ll need to have access to tools like a dab rig, torch, dab tool, carb cap, and the concentrate itself.

A dab rig is a water pipe that has what’s called a nail on the end. The nail is the small chamber in which concentrates like crumble are applied and heated to release the vapor that you’ll inhale.

Much like a bong, a dab rig allows smoke or vapor to pass through water before entering your lungs, which makes it less harsh and hot.

Because you’re working with concentrate and not flower, you’ll need to heat your dab device to a high enough temperature to vaporize it. That’s where tools like torches come in handy.

You’ll also want to have tools to help you measure and clean up after your crumble to keep things simple and efficient.

Because crumble dabs are so powerful, it’s a good idea to start out small in terms of dose and how many dabs you try to take and work your way up from there.

Step By Step Guide

Dabbing CBD is fairly straightforward once you’re familiar with the process. Dabs are so strong that you may need only one or two to take in quite a bit of CBD, so the fact that they require a bit of setup isn’t necessarily a drawback.

Below are all the steps you need to take to successfully dab CBD crumble:

  1. Set up your dab rig or vaporizer. Prepare whatever device you’ll be using to dab before you get started. That means filling your rig with water, cleaning your tools, etc.

  2. Prepare your dab on a dab tool. Crumble is far too finicky to handle with your hands most of the time, so it’s a good idea to use a dab tool (usually shaped like a small spoon) to prepare your concentrate. Doing so before you start heating your rig up will help you precisely dose your crumble without rushing.

  3. Heat the nail or vaporizer. Use a torch to heat the nail of your rig until it begins to turn red. This usually takes around 30-45 seconds. If you’re vaping, turn on your vaporizer and set it to the temperature you’re aiming for.

  4. If using a dab rig, turn off the torch and allow the nail to cool. Once your rig is red-hot, give it some time to cool off before you drop in your dab. For most nails, 10-20 seconds is a good rule of thumb, but quartz nails may need up to 45 seconds to reach an ideal temperature.

  5. Apply the dab. Once you’ve reached a good temperature (usually around 500-700°F), drop your dab into the nail and rotate it around to melt it. Cap the dab and begin inhaling slowly.

  6. Enjoy! If you have capped your dab, be sure to cover and uncover the nail as you inhale to promote good airflow.

Can You Put CBD Crumble On Top Of Flower?

You can absolutely put CBD crumble on top of flower; in fact, doing so is a common practice for those looking to add a bit of flair to their usual bowl or intensify the effects of their buds.

Though you may lose some level of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds found in your crumble by burning and smoking it, you can still reap significant benefits from doing so.

Combining your crumble with flower only adds to the complex profile of terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids you’re introducing to your body, thus making your experience much more full and powerful than it would be otherwise.

How Do You Pack A Bowl With Crumble?

Most people use crumble as a “bowl topper” for flower, meaning they sprinkle small amounts of crumble on top of the flower that’s packed into their bowl already.

You may also find it useful to layer your crumble throughout your bowl as you pack it. This way, you continuously take in the crumble and lessen the chances of burning most of it immediately off the top.

Regardless of where you put your crumble, be sure to use only small amounts, especially if you’re new to using CBD concentrate.

Remember that crumble can be 3-4x stronger than CBD flower as you decide on your dose.

Can You Put CBD Crumble In A Joint?

You can absolutely put CBD crumble in a join. Crumble-infused joints are a staple of cannabis marketplaces in areas like California where marijuana is recreationally legal, but you can take advantage of them with CBD regardless of where you are.

Much like adding crumble to a bowl of flower, the main thing to be aware of when creating a joint with CBD crumble in it is the amount of concentrate you’re using.

How Do You Smoke Crumble In A Joint?

Perhaps the best and easiest way to smoke crumble in a joint is to sprinkle little pieces throughout the inside as you prepare it. This will allow you to evenly distribute the product and ensure you get a little bit in almost every inhalation.

Another option is to roll your CBD crumble into a thin line and snake it around the outside of the joint. This is great if you’re working with a joint that you’ve already rolled or that came pre-rolled.

Can You Eat CBD Crumble?

It’s not necessarily pleasant to eat CBD crumble, but you can do so if you’d like.

It’s not unheard of to see CBD crumble incorporated into foods, beverages, or even CBD edibles, but this method of consumption may make it hard to feel effects quickly.

CBD crumble’s texture and strong taste also don’t really lend themselves well to oral consumption.

Other forms of CBD concentrate may be better options if you’re looking to eat your CBD, as would other product types (oils, tinctures, gummies, etc.).

I was born with Cystic Fibrosis, and although it is incurable, cannabinoids have been allowing me to live my life as a healthy adult now for years. For that reason, I’ve dedicated my career to spreading the good news about cannabinoids. Currently, I work for a cannabis distribution company called Humble Cannabis Solutions which operates in California. Previously, I worked on two cannabis farms in northern California, one of which was located in the famous Humboldt County. I’ve also managed a medical cannabis delivery service in Marin County, California. I created CBD Facilitator to share what I’ve learned, and to recommend the best products that I have found in this chaotic market.
